A secret to writing great website copy
There’s a secret to writing great website copy. I’ll tell you how to do it, and it’s not some kind of magic trick.
Chances are, you wrote your website copy a long time ago with the help of a competent editor. Now it’s time to look at it all again with fresh eyes.
Here’s what you do. Email all of your members and ask them the following questions.
- What specific feature do you like most about our service?
- What would be three other benefits of this service?
- Would you recommend this service? If so, why?
These questions draw out what really matters to your members.
They experience the benefits of your coworking space every day, and they pay for those benefits. Listen to what they say! They know more than you think.
Great marketing speaks in the language of your customers. Take their exact words and use it in your copy. Try not to edit it or water it down either.
You can massage it into your website’s features and benefits sections, you can use it in your home page hero section at the top, or as testimonials on the bottom of your pages. It goes anywhere.
Speak in their tone of voice, too. Are their answers serious or silly? Use that tone if you can.
Suddenly your website begins to stand out and capture the attention of your ideal prospective members because you’re now speaking their language.
It sounds simple, but it works.
Are you willing to try it? Have you done this before?
